Short biography

Il-Sug Chung received all his academic degrees at GIST and KAIST, Korea and has developed most of his professional careers at DTU, Denmark for more than 11 years, which is one of leading technical universities in Europe. In 2018, he has moved to UNIST while maintaining his professorship and research team at DTU until 2019. His research team at DTU is one of recognized research groups on silicon-on-chip lasers and high-contrast meta-structures, holding track records. His vision at UNIST is to extend the researches on nano-structured optoelectronics on silicon and realize the silicon-on-chip platform where photonics and electronics are integrated, for applications in future computers, bio/medical diagnosis chips, and quantum photonics chips.
